Lounge Room Tribalism
Auckland 2012

Mangere Arts Centre (in association with Melanie Roger Gallery) is pleased to release a new publication chronicling Graham Fletcher's Lounge Room Tribalism series.

With 56 pages and full colour images of each work, this significant catalogue marks the occasion of Fletcher's recent exhibition at the Mangere Arts Centre (21 April – 3 June 2012). New writing by Graham Fletcher, Govett Brewster Art Gallery director Rhana Devenport and Auckland University's Caroline Vercoe is included with an introduction by MAC's Visual Arts Manger James Pinker. The texts ruminate, among other things, upon the importance of tribal art, collecting and the complexities of a meeting of cultures. The look and feel of the catalogue takes its cue from the research behind Fletcher's paintings and the qualities of 1950s Home magazines.

The publication will be available from the Mangere Arts Centre for $30.
